Mr. Scoop, also known as Fred Nell, is originally from Columbia, PA. He is a 1990-graduate of Columbia High School in Lancaster County.
Fred began Mr. Scoop in June of 2003 after being inspired by his dog, Teddy. Fred wanted to control his own hours, spend more time with his then, seven year old son, Tyler, and offer a service to people who loved their dogs as much as he did. Fred believes it is his work ethic, dedication, and determination to overcome life's challenges, including poverty and abuse, that have allowed him to build his business into what it is today—the most successful dog waste removal company in the Central Pennsylvania region.
In addition to running his business, Mr. Scoop spends countless hours giving back to the community in gratitude for the opportunities and blessings that life has brought to him. He has sponsored successful fundraisers to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Castaway Critters. He has also volunteered with the Warwick Township Police D.A.R.E. program and offers services to K-9 unit police dogs at no charge. Fred has donated his time to PAWS at Christmas to play Santa in their “Pictures with Pets” campaign and he has proudly sponsored two “Relay for Life” teams.
Most recently, Mr. Scoop has been a sponsor for “All Pro Dads” breakfasts at Lititz Elementary, Schaeffer Elementary, and Warwick Middle School, and he donates his time as a speaker to marketing and business classes throughout Central Pennsylvania.
Currently, Mr. Scoop lives in Annville, PA with his wife, Karen, his son, Tyler, and their dog, Sadie—the true ruler of the household.
